On Thursday 14th December, the children performed their nativity "This Way to Bethlehem" in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Drangan. The children ran, skipped, bounced and danced their way to Bethlehem. Well done to all the boys and girls on their heart warming performance of the nativity story. Everyone worked so hard in the rehearsals and their performance was brilliant last night! A special thank you to Ms. O'Gorman, Mrs. Hayes and Mrs. Morrissey for all their hard work in directing the show.
FRIENDSHIP SLOGAN WINNERS

As part of 'Friendship Month' the children in the Junior School came up with their own slogan to promote friendship in our school. The children were very creative coming up with their slogan and put great effort into their poster. Well done to everyone for taking part! The winning slogans include; 'Be kind, gentle and nice to your friends', 'If someone is feeling under the weather, be their sunshine!' and 'It's cool to be kind'. These winning slogans will become 'The Thought of the Week' for the upcoming weeks. Congratulations to our winners pictured below.
LOOKING AFTER THE BIRDS THIS WINTER

Second Class ensured that the birds will be well looked after this winter in Drangan by making homemade bird-feeders. They filled recycled plastic bottles with bird seed and brought them home to feed the birds. It was a great end to Science Week.
SCIENCE WEEK 2023

There were lots of 'curious minds' this week for Science Week. The pupils participated in range of experiments from dancing raisins to magnets. They investigated gravity and how colours separate and identified items that can float or sink. They also saw how plants drink water and how rain occurs with the cloud in a jar. They investigated fingerprints and were amazed to see how they were all unique. The skittles experiment provided an amazing rainbow! It was a wonderful week in school and we definitely have lots of budding scientists for the future!

FIRST AND SECOND CLASS FOOTBALL BLITZ

First and Second Class pupils went a football blitz in Fethard Town Park. They played 3 matches on the day. Excellent skills were displayed and everyone had great fun. Well done to all the boys and girls!
