SUSTAINABLE ENERGY AUTHORITY OF IRELAND

21/3/2018

Thanks so much to Hans who visited our school today and spoke to each of the classes about energy. We all learned a great deal from the presentations and experiments. Children were introduced to a famous scientist, Isaac Newton. They investigated some of his work and proved that every action has an equal and opposite reaction and that energy can neither be created or destroyed but can be transferred from one form to another. Pupils made their own batteries using two metals (zinc and copper) and a potato. They used this battery to light a bulb.
