Today we welcomed Edel from the Heritage in Schools Programme to St. Patrick's Junior N.S. Pupils in 1st and 2nd Class participated in a pollinator workshop and learned all about the 'All Ireland Pollinator Plan'. Both classes learned all about the different types of bees and how the plan was developed to help the bees. They got to see some bees in bugs pots, frames from an educational bee hive, a smoker and a bee suit. The children learned numerous interesting facts about bees throughout the workshop. We learned about the importance of flowers in the garden for the bees and we now appreciate the bees even more for the wonderful job they do in our environment! At the end of the workshop, the pupils got to taste some honey and it was delicious!
ZUMBA SHOW
30/5/2023
Children from Junior Infants to 6th Class performed Zumba dances for the whole school today. It was a wonderful show and the children really enjoyed watching the other classes perform. All the classes have been very lucky to have had Zumba classes with Rebecca for the last 6 weeks. The show was a huge highlight as the children got to show the other classes the dances they had learned. A special thank you to Rebecca for her excellent Zumba lessons.
