Our committee did a fantastic job auditing our PE press recently, clearing it out, getting rid of any broken equipment and organising everything leaving it easily accessible. We are currently engaging in a non-competitive running challenge called 'Run Around Europe' as part of the Active Schools Flag. This involves the children in the school running to various locations around Europe (with a twist!). One lap of the basketball court is equal to 1 kilometer. We are currently aiming to run 597km/laps to the UK as our first destination! There was great excitement in St. Patrick's N.S. today as the children from 1st to 6th classes headed to Semple Stadium for the under 13 county finals for both the boys and girls. Both teams played fantastically and did their school, families and themselves proud. Well done to all involved - maith sibh! Due to the inclement weather that Storm Callum brought we had some indoor movement breaks as we couldn't go outside at break or lunch.
Well done to the under 11s girls football team who competed in a blitz in Castleiney. The girls played against Templetuohy, Rahealty and Leugh winning two out of their three games. Maith sibh! Well done to all our cross country runners in Thurles today. Each athlete gave their best performance and we even brought home a number of medals. Congratulations to Eoin, Lucy, John and Seán who all picked up medals in their categories. |
