5th and 6th Class commenced after school hurling and camogie training today with Ms. Campion and Ms. Butler. It was great to see the boys and girls enjoying training.

Our u13 boys and girls travelled to Peake Villa to participate in the u13 FAI Soccer Blitz. They played 3 matches. Despite their excellent effort, unfortunately it was not their day. They drew 2 games and lost one game. Well done to everyone for their excellent sportsmanship.
Gymnastics

We have been enjoying excellent gymnastics lessons with Niall from Kool School since Christmas. The children have been performing tumbles, cartwheels and doing handstands during the lessons. They did lots of movements and sequences including the crab, butterfly, plank, 'rock and roll' and the basket, to help strengthen their core and enhance their flexibility. The children have had the opportunity to practice their balance by walking on beams and standing like a flamingo. Each of the lessons were fun and engaging for the pupils and they were fortunate to have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of gymnastics while having fun with their friends!
Sport in St. Patrick's N.S.
St. Patrick's N.S. is a very active school and highly involved in sporting opportunities for our pupils. Recent sports we offered in the school include hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, soccer, cross country running, basketball, rounders, athletics, gymnastics, swimming, tag rugby, spikeball, zumba dancing and Irish dancing. We have a sports day every June which is enjoyed by all.
The sporting competitions we take part in annually include Cumann na mBunscol Gaa competitions, Fai soccer, Cross Country running in Clonmel and Spikeball.
Additionally we promote movement breaks in all classrooms.

Congratulations to all the boys and girls who competed in the cross country running in Clonmel recently. Well done to all pupils who received medals. We are very proud of all our pupils great effort and participation in the event.
