History of St. Patrick's Junior and Senior National Schools.

St. Patrick’s School was first established in 1967 as a replacement for the old Boys’ School in the village.  It was extended in 1985 to accommodate pupils from the Sisters of Mercy Convent School.  The school then became a Junior and a  Senior school.  The Mercy Sisters continued to live and teach in the parish until 1997.  St. Patrick’s Junior and Senior Schools underwent major refurbishment again in 2007 and two new classrooms, a new resource room and a new learning support room were added to the existing building.
